Cutting The Design Out
I plugged my flash drive into the laptop next to the vinyl cutter, set up my first layer and hit send. On the machine, I hit the "F1" button, then "Enter." The machine began to cut the layer. Once I had cut out each layer, I weeded each one and used the dental pick to take out the pieces I didn't need. I used the clear application tape and applied each cutout onto the tape. I cut them out and squeegeed them until they were stuck to the tape.
In order to apply the vinyl decals I designed, I first had to wash and dry the area where I was putting it. I peeled the backing off the first layer, placed it where I wanted it, then used a credit card to make the vinyl stick to the window. I repeated this with every layer until the whole thing had been applied.
During this rotation, I saw how easy it could be to make something that was only an idea a couple days earlier.
